Let´s empower youth participation and increase competences of youth workers, teachers and volunteers to support participation and activism in local communities
Training course to empower youth participation, activism and youth initiatives for participants from these countries: BELGIUM – POLAND and ITALY. We are looking for participants with residency address in these countries to join the training course.

Project objectives:
- Increase the professional capacities of participants on how to involve young people at the local level: Participants will be able to involve young people at the local level in cooperation with local governments.
- Implementation of the 5 Steps to Self-Government methodology: Increase the competences of participants to use this methodology to support the development of youth work and their participation at the local level and in local governments.
- Implementation of the Democracy Reloading tool: Improve the use of this tool to support the participation of young people in the community and in local government.
- Raise awareness of the possibilities of involving young people in communities and the philosophy of the participation ladder.
Other goals:
- Better mapping of needs and analysis of the situation in local government: The goal is to better map the needs of young people and analyze the situation at the local level using the right methodology.
- Support for the international dimension of youth work: Support exchange programs and cooperation between local government representatives, youth workers, youth work experts at national and international levels.
- Creating partnerships and networks: The aim is to support partnerships and networks at national and international level to exchange good practices and experiences in the field of youth participation.
Learning outcomes and activities:
The workshops will focus on the implementation of the participation ladder, the Democracy Realoding Toolkit and the 5 steps to youth participation in local government methodology: increasing the professional qualifications of participants in the development of active youth participation at the local level, as well as the exchange of good practice examples between organizations.
Participants will know how to implement the 5-step methodology for participation at 5 levels:
1. motivation and communication, analysis of needs of youth people at the local government level
2. responsibility and cooperation – active involvement of young people in local community / minicipality.
3. development of participation, specific methods of involvement
4. support and strengthening of participation
5. maintenance of participation
Educational activities focused on the use of tools for mapping needs and status analyses, such as the Sentiment Map, and their application in setting visions for participation at the local government level.
Democracy Reloading: implementation of the Democracy Reloading application for participatory planning, identification of young people's problems and analysis of the participation process at the city and municipality level based on specific goals.
Profile of participants:
- Youth workers with long-therm experience in the youth participation and local youth initiatives and volunteering.
- Youth coordinators in the field of youth participation in the municipality and representatives of municipality working directly with the young people.
- Representatives from the city youth parliament.
- Teachers and representatives from school youth parliament.
- Social workers supporting youth participation at local level.
- Lectures, trainers in the field of youth participation, youth work and youth policy in the municipality .
Participants have to be over 18 years old and able to follow the training course and working language is English.
