Humanity in Action Bosnia and Herzegovina (HIA BIH) contributes to a peaceful and sustainable future BIH by educating, connecting and inspiring a network of young Bosnian leaders who are committed to promoting cultural, religious and ethnic tolerance. HIA BIH raises awareness about injustice, discrimination and other social problems in BIH by educating youth from BIH about democracy and human rights.
HIA BIH is part of the international Humanity in Action network with affiliates in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, France and the United States.
2020 Open Call for Summer Fellowship applications is OPEN!
The core activity of HIA is an annual five-week Summer Fellowship organized in five European cities. During this intensive and demanding Fellowship, young leaders from various countries attend lectures and discuss topics related to the Holocaust, human rights, democracy and minority protection. They meet and debate with renowned academics, journalists, politicians and activists. The Fellowship also includes site visits to government agencies, non-profit organizations, museums and memorials. After completion of the Fellowship, the fellows remain active in HIA’s international network, which consist of over 1200 fellows working in academia, business, government, media, law and civil society organizations. HIA BIH is proud to present more than 50 fellows in BIH.
If you are university students and recent graduates from BiH you can apply to our programs set for June 3 – July 1, 2020 (Europe-based programs in Amsterdam, Copenhagen or Sarajevo) and June 23 – July 23, 20202 (US-based program in Atlanta).
