The Waterloo Foundation: Seeking Applications for Child Development Fund

Deadline: 2 July 2017

The Waterloo Foundation is seeking applications for its Child Development Fund to provide grants for research projects and for practical projects.

TWF is interested in the psychological and behavioural development of children, and particularly in certain neurodevelopmental conditions and the factors that influence them. To that end TWF fund:

  • Research, as a main priority
  • Dissemination of research
  • Intervention projects

Funding Information

  • Levels of funding are typically up to £50,000 per research project.
  • Awards for practical projects are usually up to £10,000, although applications for larger grants will be considered in special circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applications are welcome from researchers based outside of the UK.
  • As a slight caveat, it should be noted, that when judging applications the foundation takes into consideration how well the proposed project fits with their key themes, the track record of the researchers and institutions at which the research is based and the value for money the proposal offers.
  • Applications from within the UK can recover the capital costs of research elsewhere and therefore this cost does not make up part of the proposed grant budget.
  • With all other things being equal, this can have the effect of making UK based applications appear more attractive through better cost efficiency (although this is certainly not always the case).

How to Apply

In the first instance, applicants must email their applications as an attachment at the address given on the website.
