Building resilience to violent extremism in Western Balkans local communities

IRI is soliciting small grant applications from organizations local to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and/or Serbia that seek to build resilience to violent extremism.

Successful applications clearly either

  1. Identify and present a plan to address or research a driver of violent extremism, OR
  2. Identify and present a plan to improve or research a factor of resilience to violent extremism.

Amounts for individual awards will be between $3,000 and $7,000.

Period of Performance: Dates variable; projects should begin no earlier than January 1, 2019 and end no later than July 31, 2019.

Eligibility: Organizations, informal groups, and individuals located in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and/or Serbia are eligible for funding. Organizations that have relatively little experience receiving funding from foreign donors are particularly encouraged to apply.

Deadline for application is January 3, 2019.
