Vacancy for a Child Protection Coordinator – 1 position, based in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina – NATIONAL POST ONLY

As a member of the Emergency team in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Child Protection Coordinator will be responsible to lead, manage and coordinate timely and quality delivery of provision of support and assistance to refugee and migrant unaccompanied and separated children and/or families in Sarajevo Canton. The Child Protection Coordinator will manage presence of Child Protection Officers and Outreach Teams in relevant location in order to ensure appropriate mechanisms in place for identification, care, referral, registration and reunification with appropriate follow up and support to particularly vulnerable individuals. Additionally, the post will monitor the other Save the Children supported services for families with children and/or unaccompanied and separated children and will work with partners to ensure child protection component of the services for children and families are fully integrated in and supporting child protection monitoring mechanisms. With the Outreach Manager and Emergency Team Leader, the post is responsible for overall intervention management and implementation as well as overseeing administration, budget monitoring, procurement needs and staffing in Tuzla Canton.  

In order to be successful, you will bring/have: 

•    Recommended a minimum of 3 years of project cycle management experience in an NGO or IGO environment with a proven history of delivering results, preferably in running both emergency and development programs
•    Experience of policy and advocacy and ability to represent the Country Office to influential policymakers, other agencies, donors and the media
•    Experience in fundraising and networking with donors as well as knowledge of donor priorities in North-West Balkans
•    Experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and securing and managing grants from institutional donors
•    Ability to analyse information and evaluate options 
•    An in-depth understanding of national and international development issues, in particular in relation to children 
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills 
•    Fluency in written and spoken English  
•    Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies
•    Commitment to, and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approach.
