About the role:

In August 2021, PIN launched a new project to improve the use of public space and public discourse in the City of Mostar. PIN will lead a consortium of international and local organizations that includes Everyday Peace Indicators, LDA Mostar, OKC Abrasevic, and Nesto Vise to implement the 36-month long project.

PIN is looking for an experienced Finance Officer who will be responsible for ensuring daily accountancy work and administrative tasks for PIN offices.

The position will be supervised by the Finance Coordinator based in Sarajevo.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Preparation and storage of cash register documentation according to PIN’s standard templates and procedures
  •  Keep accurate records for all financial transactions
  •  Implement PIN’s and local financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency
  •  Process invoices in PIN internal system
  •  Process advance requests and settlement for employees in PIN internal system
  •  Doing payments of approved invoices and advances
  •  Monthly payroll preparation
  •  Performing monthly bank reconciliation
  •  Archiving financial documentation in PIN’s internal archiving system
  •  Regular communication with bank clerks to ensure proper functioning PIN bank accounts
  •  Allocation of overhead costs according to mission allocation plan
  •  Assist with budget preparation
  •  Compiling of Office Money Requests
  •  Close work with relevant finance staff from BiH, Serbia, UNK and from HQ in Prague
  •  Conducting trainings to PIN implementing partners and Grantees on reporting requirements (PIN and Donor rules); cwZMnth kJ5v7
  •  Checking partner reports with supporting documentation and preparing them for posting in NAVISION system prior to payments
  •  Contribute to internal and external financial audits.
  •  Perform administrative office tasks (filing, drafting correspondence, visa, notary)


Suitable candidates for this position should possess:

  •  Minimum 3 years of experience as Financial Officer or similar role
  •  University degree in Economics, Finance, or other relevant discipline
  •  Ability to work in teams and independently, handle multiple tasks and deliver assignments on time
  •  Experience of working within a humanitarian and/or development organization (NGO); experience of working with international NGO is highly desired
  •  Excellent communication skills, including fluent spoken and written Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English
  •  Knowledge of financial regulations
  •  Excellent analytical and numerical skills, sharp time management skills
  •  Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  •  Advanced MS Excel skills
